The Hippopotamus or Hippo lives in southern and eastern central sub-Saharan Africa. It’s the forth largest mammal in the world having a weight between 2,2 and 3,6 tones, the size of the head and body is between 2.8 and 4.2 m and the tail can reach 50 cm. The hippo’s diet is mainly herbivorous and it is a very good swimmer.The hippopotamus can be easily recognized by its enormous mouth and teeth, almost hairless body and short legs.
