The African Lion is the second largest cat after the tiger and is the only cat that lives in groups called prides. Today the African Lion can be found mainly in the south part of the Sahara desert. It weights between 120 and 191 kg and it can reach up to 2 meters without the tail. The female lion (lioness) is the primary hunter in the group.
